“Securing Active Directory in 4 Hours!”
With the continual rise of Cyber Crime, the risk to your deployment is increasing. Most attacks will weaponize Active Directory to gain access, laterally move, and ultimately exfiltrate your data and possibly encrypt to ransom you once or twice. This class will focus on the most common Active Directory Attack Avenues and the group policies you must configure. These settings are recommended for all Windows Server and Desktop Operating systems but apply to VDI.
This master class, typically a two-day class with labs or a one-day class with fewer labs, has been thoughtfully condensed into a unique four-hour session. While we won’t have time for labs, we've meticulously selected the top content to ensure the best value for your time. We respect the value of your time and have designed this session to be as efficient and effective as possible. Please see the instructors profile below (Patrick Coble).

When Desktop-as-a-Service users complain about insufficient digital employee experience (DEX), identifying the reasons can be challenging, regardless of whether it's RDS, AVD, Windows 365, CVAD, Horizon or Amazon Workspaces. Turning anecdotal user complaints into reproducible expert evidence by building proof-of-concept environments and conducting performance testing is a good solution strategy. Join benchmarking expert Benny Tritsch as he shares DEX performance scores and findings he collected across different VDI projects, remoting protocols and End User Computing solutions. Learn how to run your own benchmarking tests in a strictly scientific way.

The planet has been getting more and more cyber-attacks in the last five years and isn’t slowing down. We will cover the most common attack avenues. We will discuss recent breaches and what could have been done to prevent these attacks so you can take that knowledge back to your deployment. In this session, Stephen will provide an overview of customer VDI's journey into the AWS Cloud, taking into account close to ten years of condensed experience from hundreds of migrations. This session will explore advanced techniques and best practices for "smart sizing" VDI in the cloud environment. Attendees will gain a deep understanding of how to balance resource allocation, performance, and cost efficiency using cutting-edge technologies and methodologies with AWS EUC services.
Stephen K. Stetler began his journey in the world of end-user computing over two decades ago. Currently serving as the Worldwide Technical Leader at AWS for End-User Computing (EUC), Stephen's expertise has validated by his peers alike. Prior to his role at AWS, he was a consultant, guiding numerous customers through migrations to Amazon WorkSpaces and Amazon AppStream 2.0.
Stephen's passion for end-user computing took root in 2003 when he delved into Citrix and Windows Terminal Services, enabling software as a service (SaaS) solutions before the term was well known. With over 40 certifications under his belt, Stephen's commitment to continuous learning is unwavering. Based in lower Delaware, USA, this End User Computing professional's impact transcends geographical boundaries. Stephen's ability to navigate the ever-evolving landscape of technology, combined with his hands-on experience, makes him a sought-after thought leader in the industry.

n this session Claudio and Alex will share their experience of resistance to On-Prem, Off-Site, Out-Sourced, Cloud and Hybrid deployment trough out their professional life. About giving up this resistance. About why it does not matter
whether you like On-Prem, Off-Site, Out-Sourced, Cloud or Hybrid, because at the end of the day it is what the customer want and what works best for them.
Claudio is a well-known figure in the EUC, having delivered sessions on many EUC focused conferences around the globe. He was an on-premises fanboy but after a life-changing event he saw the light and now lives in CloudLand, working as an Imagineer delivering the workspace of the future today.
That said he still thinks many vendors suck and have no vision, on-premises or in the cloud.

ChatGPT this, prompt engineering that, stolen content etc etc. AI is all the hype today, but what will it really mean for our little corner of the IT world? Yes, answering user questions (how to annoy your users 101), helping with writing scripts (with dubious results) and all that jazz, but will it really impact our day to day activities? Let's have a chat about it! Some food for thought:
- Is ChatGPT really intelligent?
- What about other ' AI tech' that have nothing to do with LLMs at all?
- And what about privacy? Will your technical articles be scraped for content?
Ton has over 20 years experience working in IT, working mainly in the EUC space as a system architect/builder and troubleshooter with a focus on automation. More recently he has moved into developing solutions with PowerShell and works on applications that integrate with the Azure platform using Azure Function Apps. He is currently working with a startup developing an app that will indeed use ChatGPT but is still in dark mode :-)

Just because you are not looking for a fully managed VDI solution does not necessarily mean you want to build everything yourself. For users who want to set up their own environment, can we make self-managing the underlying components simpler, dare I say, even delightful? In this session, Julia will introduce the new NICE DCV Access Console and demonstrate how we are making it just a little bit easier to manage your users’ sessions and give them access to all the right things.
Julia has spent the last several years as a technical product manager for NICE DCV at AWS. Before AWS, she worked as a quality engineer and product manager on smart home security systems and studied as a mechanical engineer. At every stage, she’s followed her passion for building technical products and making them a little bit easier to consume.

In his long career as an enterprise architect, Saša has read, commented on and implemented many strategy papers. Most of them had one thing in common, they explained a lot of things except strategy. In his presentation Saša will explain on real life example (thanks Chris for inspiration) what strategy is, what is not and what is the connection between goal, problem, execution and strategy. In the second part we will discuss what this means for IT projects, especially in this fast moving agile world of cloud native application delivery.
Saša is an Enterprise Architect based in
Hamburg. He spends most of his time with application delivery, data center infrastructure, and infrastructure management projects. Saša
started his journey in serverbased computing space during his bachelor thesis with first contact with virtualisation technology on GSX
1.0 an ESX 1.0 Beta. E2EVC has had a big impact on his career since 2005 and is proud Ambassador of E2EVC. Is easy to grow among gorgeous people. Always happy and grateful
for the opportunity to present on E2EVC. Works for living, happily married, father of two teenagers. In his spare time Saša is Basketball
trainer in 5th German basketball league and is heavily trying to connect with his kids (teenagers are not easy to connect to).

In this session Denis will provide an overview of the current state of realtime communication in VDI, and discuss AWS’s efforts in this area. The session will explore specific scenarios where optimization is beneficial and others where it might not fit, addressing potential downsides transparently without spreading FUD. He'll also explain why optimization can sometimes be seen as a "checkbox feature" and discuss AWS's strategic approach to delivering real value. This session aims to provide a realistic understanding of communication app optimization in the cloud, beyond the hype.
For two decades Denis was focused on Remote Desktop, VDI, and application delivery. Denis is currently a Senior Product Manager, Technical at Amazon Web Services (AWS), where he is responsible for the planning and development of display protocols. Previously he held various program management and consulting positions at several technology companies, including Microsoft, VMware and Citrix.
