works at Avanite, a Software company based in the UK. Liza
introduced to IT virtualization late 2016 and is responsible for
account management as well as the marketing of the business by
analyzing trends and changes in the world of end-user computing.
Securing Windows desktops – why
it’s our problem! Jorrit talks through “the basics” of
securing a Windows desktop to help reduce the risk of ransomware attack
and improve image management. Ransomware attacks are up 300%.
Whilst deploying Virtualised desktops can help keep apps and data in
the datacentre, the responsibility of protecting the users from such
attacks are no longer the job of the InfoSec guys. Securing users and
desktops is fast becoming the responsibility of the End user computing
/ Windows engineering teams.
Jorrit Van Eijk – Senior Pre Sales consultant
this interactive session, we’ll try to sum up the question.
As you (may) know you have to choose between the stability (LTSR) and
the new features (Current Release). This session will allow you to
choose the right one!

Lockdown 1.0: Securing Your Deployment Citrix has
been in the Application and Desktop Virtualization Game for over 26
years, and it has been primarily deployed for Centralization and
Security reasons. In this session, you will learn how to
secure your Citrix deployment against intellectual property theft, how
to survive a penetration test along with some of the most common
attacks. The amount of attacks continues to rise, and the
amount of data that has been released\leaked from so many companies is
staggering. Just like most things, many of these breaches could have
been prevented by having basic security policies in place and some
basic patching in many cases. We will show you all the free
things you can do to lock down your deployment and what products people
use to go to the next level in security. Citrix has one of the most
comprehensive and secure deployment options compared to any other
solution out there, but many partners\clients never take the simple
steps to lock it down because of the extra time it takes.
Come and listen to learn how to implement true security for your
deployment, not just the cookie-cutter, typical vendor

independent EUC and Security Consultant and the Nashville, TN CUGC
Leader. Patrick has over 18 years’ experience within the IT space
centered around Virtualization, EUC solutions and Security.
His work as both a Citrix Customer for 9 years and as Partner for
almost 9 years has given him the ability to see hundreds of
deployments, resolve issues and design then build new
solutions. He has architected and deployed
solutions from 12 to 16,000 CCU EUC deployments. Patrick has
a passion for sharing and presenting information for IT solutions, EUC,
INFOSEC and Penetration tests. As an independent consultant,
he is doubling down on blogging and working to give back to the
community that has given so much to him. Patrick’s blog, VDISecurity.org,
focused on security and VDI related items as there hasn’t been a huge
emphasis or knowledge base available in these areas before.
He has presented at many venues around the Southeast and within his
local CUGC chapter, but this presentation at E2EVC is his first
presentation in the big leagues. Shake and Bake.
GRID: The little green pill to enhance your VDI
- Defining performance; rendered vs

- CPU, SMs, CUDA cores and clocks are not always in parallel universes
