AWS Putting a Face on Digital Experience.
What do we need all these presenters for anyways? See how Amazon Sumerian Hosts is creating a virtual concierge. Instead of using digital experiences that are limited to voice, text, and motion graphics, Sumerian puts a real face on digital experiences. Expanding on the idea of a virtual concierge, we created a scene that puts a Host as the presenter for a slide show presentation. Maybe their live demo could work in Rome? Come find out how to build that.

During this session, attendees will learn about the impacts of the NVIDIA vGPU Technology in an Citrix Virtual Apps environment. There are many sessions / informations where you can see how important it is to add a (v)GPU to a Virtual Desktop. Unfortunately this information mainly refers to Citrix Virtual Desktops and not Citrix Virtual Apps. So let’s have a look what happens when you add a (v)GPU to a Virtual Apps environment. Next to that you will see why it is especially important in Virtual Apps environments to have a look for the Frame Buffer Usage.

Monitoring Citrix Cloud With the introduction of Citrix Cloud and Virtual Apps and Desktops Service a while back, Director is the default tool of choice when it comes to monitoring a Citrix Cloud environment. But it comes with a catch. Director in Citrix Cloud only saves 90 days of historical data. So what are the available options when you need access to historical data dating back more than 90 days, or when the default trends and reports can't accommodate your needs.Enter my 'Monitoring Citrix Cloud' hands-on session where I show how you can leverage OData and PowerShell get access to the monitoring database directly.

How to provide virtual resources in a Citrix environment with “overflow delivery groups. Description:
This session is another example how easy you can extend the functionality of a Citrix Virtual Desktops and Apps environment just some lines of PowerShell code and the use of machine tags. You can use the presented concept for hybrid Citrix environments with On-Prem and Cloud machines or as another example for a mix of virtual desktops with and without GPUs with the objective to reduce costs and always have best user experience.

Monitoringring an IT environment with analogue synthesizer feedback. In this session we will expand of the concept of using audio feedback to monitor your IT infrastructure. We will demonstrate how to monitor multiple servers and services with Powershell, IoT and analog synthesizers to give it some sizzle.
Going beyond just having some fun we will explore if the are any practical use cases for audio feedback in the real world (if there is such a thing), and see how we can use IoT in IT administration beyond the standard flashing emergency lights.

Azure Active Directory as Identity Provider for Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops. Leveraging SAML, Azure Active Directory can also be used as an identity provider for Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops. In addition to a consistent end user experience across different SaaS applications, this also allows you to easily implement scenarios for multi-factor authentication and conditional access policies. In my presentation I will show you what the requirements for such an implementation are, how the solution presents itself to the end user and which further possibilities it opens up.

VDI by Day, Compute by Night. In a real-life project, I have designed and deployed a VDI platform that was fully utilized for a great User Experience by day. By night, the platform automatically turned into a compute platform to run Deep Learning and Artificial Intelligence workloads and fully utilized CPUs, RAM and of course: GPUs. By leveraging the features and technologies in VMware Horizon, VMware vSphere and NVIDIA vGPU we were able to design and build a dynamic platform that is not only able to present the user with a great User Experience, but also offers data scientists a place to run their complex DL/AI (High-Performance Computing) workloads. In this session, I will explain how the platform was designed, what challenges I faced and how we solved them to get the ultimate VDI/HPC platform. The session will contain multiple demos :)

Containerization for the masses! We in Microsoft land are way behind. The way we deploy infrastructure is ridiculously complicated, slow and not resilient. Containers are a solution for a lot of these issues but software vendors are simply not providing them. Their excuse? 'Nobody uses containers on Microsoft'. Well, there is not much point if you don't provide us with the bloody containers!
In this session we will demonstrate how much easier life could be if they can start providing us with containerized versions of their software. We will attempt to roll out as much infrastructure as possible with containers and show the advantages of this approach.
